- Possible formats for a curriculum program: problem-based, project-based, cases-based, task-based, modular, block, blended learning, traditional lectures, MOOC. Often, a combination of formats is chosen.
- The eight design principles will be implemented in a good curriculum to support the student’s learning. A logical description of the decisions about implementing the eight design principles is given in the pedagogical concept of the curriculum.
- Serial programming of courses is more effective than parallel programming. In serial programming, the students can focus on 1 or 2 subjects instead of 5-9 subjects. Sizeable courses improve the coherence of a program.
- Spreading exams is more effective, as there is less ‘competition’ for the student’s learning time when preparing for the exams. The same goes for resits when the following courses have already started.
- Prepare a clear description and explanation of the program which the teachers’ team can use, the management and the accreditation committee.
- Prepare the study guide and a program description for the university website using the program and course descriptions. The various descriptions for students and teachers can be used for the accreditation documents to explain the didactical concept and the design of the courses.
