Design of Evidence-Based Blended Learning in Higher Education

  1. Facilitate students using the Internet, books, and articles.
  2. Present video lectures, digital texts, syllabi, articles, additional digital explanations, and background information. 
  3. Use hyperlinks to additional resources on the Internet.
  4. Connect with websites (professional), software and libraries.
  5. Offer additional explanations to explain complicated topics or present electives.
  6. Wrap your course around a course available through the Internet (MOOC and Open Educational Resources – OER).
  7. Use an online virtual classroom, like Zoom or the BigBlueButton (Moodle).
  8. Make the presentations/lectures of the teachers or guest lecturers available on video.
  9. Present case studies, videos, simulations, animations, and games (with additional digital information.
  10. Use pictures and schemes (which are built up step by step).
  11. Present a glossary with (defined) concepts.
  12. Use a glossary or ask the students to make a glossary for a specific topic.
  13. Explore information on the Internet with various search options.
  14. Present the study guide and ad hoc changes in the program and activities through the VLE.
  15. Offer additional resources for challenging topics.
  16. Use 3D programs with a virtual and augmented reality spectacle. (O18)
